International IAML Congress in Prague, 24 – 29 July 2022
This year, congress is held together with 9. Conference of Digital Libraries for Musicology (DLfM).
More information about programme you can find here.
The main congress organiser is the Czech National Branch of the IAML in cooperation with the Municipal Library of Prague and the National Library of the Czech Republic. The IAML Congress will be held in Prague for the second time. The first Prague congress took place in 1991, two years after the so-called Velvet Revolution. It was organised by the Czechoslovak National Branch of the IAML.
The main congress venues are located in the Municipal Library of Prague, which houses one of the largest music libraries in the Czech Republic. The other meetings will be held at the nearby National Library, specifically in the Mirror Chapel and other historical halls of Klementinum.
The program includes visits to a number of Prague institutions associated with music and music-related materials such as the Czech Museum of Music (which houses rare historical sources and a wonderful collection of musical instruments), the Smetana Museum (which takes care of Bedřich Smetana´s legacy and everything related to his life), the Antonín Dvořák Museum (which provides sources on the life and work of the famous composer) and the Bohuslav Martinů Institute in Prague and its library, one of the youngest music documentation centres in the city.
You will have the opportunity to visit the most spectacular art nouveau structure in Prague, the Municipal House, and its famous Smetana Hall, which will be the venue for the farewell dinner of the IAML Congress.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Prague!
